Teaching Overseas Will Most Likely Change You

By esljoblinks   I  East Asia   I  1 comment

I have decided to occasionally try finding those who have documented their overseas teaching experience, I can across this women who resisted the feeling (during the first week) that going to Korea was the biggest mistake of her life.  She stuck it out and it became an eight year experience.  The following is a small portion of the post.

“So much of me has changed since then. I have changed. Travel should never be familiar or routine. It is out of the ordinary that makes it so inviting. It is the hard parts of it that make it great.”

I, myself, stayed in Korea for 12 years.  To put that into perspective, I was there for the 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympics.  Also, when I left, I had several cousins in elementary school.  When I came back, some were in university while others had already graduated.

I am not the same person who left, and know that I learned a lot from my experience that will help me with my future plans, goals, dreams.
